Alan Wurman is a Music Composer and Arranger, working between USA, Europe and Asia. He guided a group of young participants from different countries through various topics, including the fundamentals of arranging, the key elements of a successful arrangement, practical considerations, tools and resources, tips for different scenarios, and general advice for personal growth as an arranger. The workshop aimed to equip the participants with essential knowledge and techniques to create compelling musical arrangements across diverse styles in order to express themselves. Arina is a music composer, academic vocalist, working with youth and with youngsters with special needs. The program was uncovered with the fundamentals reflected in the following question: What does singing start from? The central idea of this part of the workshop was to connect singing and body. Scatting is a jazz vocal improvisation. The participants were shown two examples of scat singing to convey the main idea of the message. Scat can also be used by amateur musicians and even non-musicians. For youth workers, its value consists in helping the group let themselves loose, get emotional and use their voices.
